• As the hirer, I understand that I am fully responsible for all bikes and equipment relating to this hire agreement. I will take care to lock bikes and equipment whenever they are unattended. I am liable for the cost of replacements.
• All bikes and equipment subject to this agreement remain the property of BCR.
• I recognise that cycling can be dangerous and acknowledge the risks involved. Special care must be taken near water and on the roads. A copy of the Highway Code for Cyclists Revised Edition 2007 has been given to me to read at my leisure by BCR.
• I have inspected the bikes/equipment and have found it to be in excellent condition, brakes, chains and wheels are in working order and all equipment are in excellent condition and I will use the bikes/equipment in a safe and proper manner.
• I confirm that I will be responsible for the payment of any surcharge levied as a result of the bikes/equipment being returned later than the agreed time or in an excessively soiled state or damaged, lost or stolen. This surcharge will be charged to the credit card used on booking by myself or by cash or cheque payment of an invoice raised. In the event of BCR being able to make a successful claim on their insurance I understand that the cost to myself will be reimbursed.
• I acknowledge the strong recommendation of BCR to use the cycle helmets provided and that users under 18 must wear a helmet at all times whilst travelling. I have also been advised that the high visibility jackets should be worn whilst out and about.
• I will not undertake any manoeuvre which is beyond our level of skill or which causes damage to the bike or its tyres or any equipment. Off-road/cycle track riding is not allowed with the bikes.
• I declare that we are in good health and that our eyesight (with lenses or glasses if required and used) is up to a good standard. We are not suffering from any medical conditions or disability, which is likely to adversely affect our normal control of the bike or equipment.
• I confirm that I will be responsible for the payment of any damage (including third party) caused as a consequence of my dangerous cycling, loss of control or negligence. I fully indemnify BCR against claims of injury to any third party or myself.
• If I am signing this agreement for a child that I have responsibility for then I accept the same terms and conditions that apply to them and their bikes and equipment. I will not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol whilst cycling or using any of the equipment rented to me by BCR.
• English Law covers this agreement. In the event that any part of this agreement is for any reason unenforceable the remainder shall remain in full force and effect. We recommend that you take out Personal Accident Insurance
• If you have only one Hire Agreement for your party then all individuals must sign below. Please sign on behalf of anyone under the age of 16 with the child’s name and age in the name section below.
